Droubiz: a Laravel store with a defensively engineered payment flow
The real problem
A multi-category Egyptian store selling in EGP, needing to accept real payments through a local gateway and give its team an admin panel to run products and orders daily. In payments, a bug does not mean a broken page; it means money.
What we delivered
- A full Laravel store: catalogue, cart, offers and order management
- Integration with an Egyptian payment gateway for online acceptance
- A complete admin panel for products, orders and offers
Engineering notes
- The amount is verified server-side against the order before a payment is accepted; the redirect back from the gateway is never trusted on its own
- Idempotent payment references: a retried payment cannot create a duplicate order
- The cart is fingerprinted when payment starts, so a mid-payment cart change cannot alter what was paid for
- Reconciliation between gateway records and order records, so no payment is lost and no order slips through unpaid
The store runs in production on infrastructure we manage, with backups, monitoring and controlled deployments rather than ad-hoc file uploads.
A live store taking real orders in EGP, with a payment path designed on the assumption that anything arriving from the browser may have been tampered with.
