Flower & Gift Delivery App Development
Occasion-driven catalogue, timed delivery slots, gift recipients, anonymous senders and florist management — built for the way flowers are actually bought
Flower delivery looks like standard e-commerce until you examine the order. The buyer is rarely the recipient, delivery time matters more than delivery speed, the address often belongs to someone the buyer cannot ask, the product is perishable and occasion-driven, and the sender frequently wants to stay anonymous. Generic store software handles none of that well. We build for the actual transaction.
In short
- Buyer and recipient are different people — separate recipient details, gift message, anonymous sending, and delivery confirmation sent to the buyer, not the recipient.
- Timed delivery slots, not "2–4 working days". Same-day, specific-hour windows, and scheduled future dates for anniversaries and birthdays.
- Occasion-led merchandising — the catalogue is organised by occasion, and the platform survives Valentine's and Mother's Day traffic instead of collapsing on its two biggest days.
- Multi-florist ready: run a single shop, or a marketplace of florists with zone-based routing and commission handling.
- Full source code ownership, published under your own store accounts.
Built for Gifting
Separate recipient name, phone and address; a gift message printed on a card; anonymous sender option; and delivery confirmation with a photo sent to the buyer.
Timed Delivery Slots
Same-day cut-off logic, specific-hour delivery windows, and scheduled future dates — because a bouquet arriving the day after the anniversary is a refund, not a sale.
Occasion Merchandising
Catalogue organised by occasion with seasonal collections, plus reminders that bring last year's buyer back before this year's date.
Single Shop or Marketplace
Run your own florist, or onboard multiple florists with zone-based order routing, per-vendor catalogues, commission rules and separate payouts.

Two days a year — Valentine's Day and Mother's Day — typically produce a very large share of annual revenue for this business. We load-test against that peak specifically, because the platform failing on those days costs more than the platform itself.

What You Receive
- Full source code ownership — the repository is transferred to you. No licence fee, no revenue share, no dependency on us to keep running.
- Customer app for iOS and Android — built from one codebase, published under your own developer accounts.
- Admin dashboard — the web control panel your team runs the business from, with role-based permissions.
- API and technical documentation — so any future developer can pick the system up without reverse-engineering it.
- App store submission — we prepare the listings, assets and privacy declarations and handle the review process through to approval.
- Post-launch support period — a defined window of bug fixing included after go-live, with an optional ongoing support retainer after that.
How We Build It
- Scoping workshop — we map your business model, revenue logic and operational rules before touching design. This is where most of the cost is decided.
- Specification and quote — a written feature list with acceptance criteria and a fixed price, so there is no ambiguity about what is included.
- UI/UX design — wireframes then full designs, in Arabic and English with correct RTL layout, approved by you before development starts.
- Development in sprints — two-week cycles with a working demo at the end of each, so you see progress rather than hear about it.
- QA and security testing — functional testing across real devices, load testing, and a security review before launch.
- Launch and handover — store publishing, production deployment, admin training, source code transfer and documentation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why not just use Shopify or a standard store platform?
For a simple catalogue with standard shipping, a hosted store is genuinely a sensible and cheaper choice, and we will tell you so. Custom becomes worth it when you need timed delivery slots with capacity limits, a recipient who is not the buyer, occasion reminders, multi-florist routing and substitution rules — features that end up as a stack of fragile plugins on a generic platform.
How do you handle same-day delivery cut-off times?
Cut-off is configured per delivery zone and per slot, with a capacity limit on each slot so you cannot sell more same-day deliveries than your drivers can physically complete. Once a slot fills or its cut-off passes, it disappears from the customer's options rather than producing an order you cannot fulfil.
What happens if the recipient is not home?
The failed-delivery flow is configurable to how you operate: attempt contact with the recipient, contact the buyer, leave with a neighbour or reception, or return and reschedule. Every attempt is logged with photo evidence, which is what resolves the dispute when a buyer says the gift never arrived.
Can the sender stay anonymous?
Yes, and it is a genuine requirement in this business. Anonymous sending hides the buyer's identity from the recipient while the card message is still delivered, and delivery notifications go only to the buyer so the surprise is not spoiled by an automated SMS.
Can it support multiple florists in different cities?
Yes. Marketplace mode supports vendor onboarding, per-vendor catalogues and pricing, delivery zones with automatic order routing to the nearest capable florist, configurable commission and separate payout reporting per vendor.
How do you handle Valentine's Day and Mother's Day traffic?
Deliberately, because these two days can carry a very large share of annual revenue. We load-test against your projected peak, use edge caching and queue-based order processing, and implement per-slot capacity caps so demand is throttled into deliverable volume rather than accepted and then failed.
What if a specific flower is out of stock?
Substitution rules are configured per product: an equivalent-value alternative with customer notification, buyer approval before substituting, or automatic removal from the catalogue for that day. Which behaviour applies is your policy decision, set in the admin console.
